Here's a video that I came across related to our topic of negative campaigns. What do you guys think? I think it was sort of funny, the way Obama put it.

First of all, Obama has no right to accuse McCain of doing things such as making ugly phone calls, sending misleading phone calls, and especially making misleading TV ads because he has been doing all of those at the same rate, if not greater rate, than McCain. As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as a completely honest TV ad. All ads have twisted facts that make a candidate seem like an angel and/or his opponent the devil. Also, when I went home for fall break, I received calls and donation letters from the Obama campaign, not the McCain campaign. Obama's next two lines make absolutely no sense. If you are already "working together" with Obama to "promote change", nothing McCain says or does will make you change your mind. Finally, I would like to know exactly what Palin said about McCain's tactics. Although Palin is clueless on how to run the country, she is a very gifted speaker. I highly doubt she "denounced" any part of McCain's plans or campaign tactics. Overall, I felt like this speech by Obama was just a mess of lies delivered with a very cocky tone.

Here is a source for you Jerry. Apparently she said that she did not approve of the robocalls the McCain campaign has been using that link Obama to Ayers.
I personally am not a fan of negative campaign ads. every single fact about each candidate can be twisted and contorted in a negative way to appease certain constituencies. i think that there implementation is not entirely useless. candidates use them in order to convey a message to a voter base that is incapable of discerning fact from fiction. this ad is sort of funny, i agree with Peter; however, the implementation of the ad in general is not very becoming of a Presidential candidate.
