Funny Palin Add

Hi guys, I just saw this funny advertisement. It features Matt Damon talking about Sarah Palin. I thought it was appropriate given our recent discussions on gender. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6urw_PWHYk ]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6urw_PWHYk

Thanks for pointing out this segment of an interview with Matt Damon. What do the rest of you think about it? It's pretty clear to me that Matt Damon isn't really too concerned about the issues of the election, either, though I'm sure he'd disagree. The story this interview segment tells me is that Matt Damon simply doesn't like the narrative that the Right is developing for Palin. It doesn't mesh with the narratives he'd accept for potential presidents. It would be an interesting exercise to analyze this ad and see if we could piece together the traits of the acceptable candidate, according to Matt Damon.

I think that Damon's argument has no sound basis. He's saying he essentially doesn't know what her policies are, but doesn't like them anyways.
Still, I thought there was some humor in the ad, but as an argument it doesn't really have a good foundation

That video had to, by far, be the funniest monotone interviews I have ever heard. I disagree with Mrs. Matthews in Damon’s focus on the issues. I do think he is thinking about the issues. He states that her views on certain issues, namely evolution and book banning seriously concerns him. Matt Damon address a very serious fear he has, but makes it in such a way that rather you're pro or anti-Palin you just gotta laugh. Saying that she's going to use "folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink" to face down Vladimir Putin; that’s classic. Though I don’t agree with his whole idea of dinosaurs being here 4,000 years ago I still find his analysis very funny.

Although I do not necessarily praise Damon's argument, I can not lie and claim to think differently. Yes, Matt Damon's thoughts regarding Palin run somewhat parallel to my own. Sometimes an argument is not made justifiably or well, however it can still indirectly state significant truth. In this case, Damon is helping to shed light on the fact that Palin is not respectable due to her means, despite what her actual policy stances are. Damon simply cannot respect the way that Palin presents herself. Neither can I, and this lack of respect has prevented me from venturing into further research about her policy stances, etc.
